Last Light Over Brooklyn

A novel about three siblings, one summer, and the version of a life that almost happened.

Writer portrait

Four years in. The book I wanted to write since I was twenty-five.

I've been a journalist for fifteen years and a novelist on the side for ten. This is my third novel; my first since 2019. It's set in the Brooklyn I grew up in and the Brooklyn it became — about three siblings, the summer their mother left, and how each of them tells the same story differently.

  • Third novel · previously: The Quiet Year (2017), Halflight (2019)
  • Bylines: The Atlantic, The Guardian, The Cut
  • Published by Penguin Random House · March 2026
  • Audiobook narrated by the author
