01The curriculumAll materials included
Six Saturdays, in order.
Each session builds on the last — miss one and we'll catch you up in open studio.

Forms
Cylinders, bowls, mugs. The shapes you actually want on your shelf.
W3
Trimming + handles
Wheel-trimming, attaching handles, refining what week two produced.
W4
Hand-building
Slab and coil construction — vases, planters, the sculptural detour.
W5
Glazing
Glaze theory, dipping, layering, decorating. Where pieces become yours.
W6
Kiln + take-home
Bisque and glaze fire, then the unbox. Most students leave with 6–10 finished pieces.

Hi — I'm the potter.
Fourteen years with clay, the last four teaching it. I teach the way I wish I'd been taught — slowly, with lots of clay, and zero gatekeeping. The wheel humbles everyone at week one and rewards everyone by week three; my job is getting you through the humbling part laughing.

04The practical part
Before you enrol
Total beginner — is that OK?+
It's the point. Most students have never touched clay. The curriculum assumes nothing and the cohort cap means nobody gets left behind.
What if I miss a Saturday?+
Come to open studio that week and we'll catch you up one-on-one. Miss two or more and we'll roll you into the next cohort at no charge.
What should I wear?+
Clothes that can meet clay and lose. Short nails help more than you'd think. Aprons and towels are ours; the mess is yours.
When do pieces come home?+
Week six for everything glazed by week five. Stragglers from the final session are fired the following week and held for pick-up.

The last three cohorts sold out before the start date. The deposit is $85 and refundable for 14 days.

Open studio
When the wheels are free
Enrolled students have the studio between sessions at no extra cost — this is when someone is here to unlock it and keep an eye on the kiln.

Closed on public holidays and for the two firing days each month — those dates go out on the studio email a week ahead.
