Wheel basics
Centring, opening, pulling. Easy first throws — lots of clay, no pressure.
Wheel-throwing, hand-building, glazing, kiln work — six weeks, hands in clay from minute one. Take home everything you make.

Next cohort
Eight seats, and the last three cohorts filled before the start date. A refundable $85 deposit holds yours.
Each session builds on the last — miss one and we'll catch you up in open studio.
Centring, opening, pulling. Easy first throws — lots of clay, no pressure.
Cylinders, bowls, mugs. The shapes you actually want on your shelf.
Wheel-trimming, attaching handles, refining what week two produced.
Slab and coil construction — vases, planters, the sculptural detour.
Glaze theory, dipping, layering, decorating. Where pieces become yours.
Bisque and glaze fire, then the unbox. Most students leave with 6–10 finished pieces.

One price, everything included. A deposit holds your seat; the rest is due at week one.
Gift enrolments available — we send a hand-thrown cup with the voucher.

Fourteen years with clay, the last four teaching it. I teach the way I wish I'd been taught — slowly, with lots of clay, and zero gatekeeping. The wheel humbles everyone at week one and rewards everyone by week three; my job is getting you through the humbling part laughing.
“I came in never having touched clay and left with eight pieces my family fights over at holidays. The small cohort is everything — you get real attention at the wheel.”
It's the point. Most students have never touched clay. The curriculum assumes nothing and the cohort cap means nobody gets left behind.
Come to open studio that week and we'll catch you up one-on-one. Miss two or more and we'll roll you into the next cohort at no charge.
Clothes that can meet clay and lose. Short nails help more than you'd think. Aprons and towels are ours; the mess is yours.
Week six for everything glazed by week five. Stragglers from the final session are fired the following week and held for pick-up.

The last three cohorts sold out before the start date. The deposit is $85 and refundable for 14 days.
Enrolled students have the studio between sessions at no extra cost — this is when someone is here to unlock it and keep an eye on the kiln.
Closed on public holidays and for the two firing days each month — those dates go out on the studio email a week ahead.
Tell us which cohort you're after and anything we should know. We confirm seats within a day.
