Annual and senior checks, vaccinations, parasite prevention — with time built in for your questions.

02

Dental care

Cleaning and extractions under anaesthesia, with pre-anaesthetic bloodwork as standard.

03

Surgery

Soft-tissue and orthopaedic: spay/neuter, mass removal, cruciate repair. Complex cases referred honestly.

04

Behaviour + nutrition

In-clinic behaviour and diet plans for weight, anxiety, and the puppy who eats furniture.

05

Senior care

Twice-yearly senior panels, arthritis management, and unrushed quality-of-life conversations.

06

Call before 5pm and we'll see your pet the same day. After hours, we coordinate with the 24/7 hospital on Westside.

A dachshund puppy in for a checkup

An independent clinic, not a chain.

Clinician-owned since 2008. The same two vets and the same technicians at every visit — which matters, because an anxious dog remembers who was kind last time. We invest in the things that change a visit (quiet rooms, pheromone diffusers, extra appointment time) and skip the upsells that don't.

  • Fear-free handling: quiet rooms, treats, no cold steel tables
  • Itemised, insurance-ready invoices for every major insurer
  • Estimates in writing before any procedure

We give every client an itemised, claim-ready invoice and can pre-estimate a procedure so your insurer can pre-approve it. We are not tied to any insurer — bring the policy you have.

03Extra time for first visits

Your first visit

Designed for nervous pets and the people who love them.

  1. We fetch the records

Tell us your previous clinic at booking and we request the full history on your behalf — nothing for you to chase.

  2. An unhurried exam

First visits get a longer slot. Nervous pets can do a "happy visit" first: treats, sniffing, no procedures.

  3. The plan, in writing

What's needed, what's optional, and what each costs — itemised before anything happens. No surprises at the desk.

Fees

What the common things cost

My anxious rescue actually walks into the clinic now. That alone is worth everything.

They saved our cat. Calm in a crisis, clear with the costs, and the follow-up call the next morning was unprompted.

Common questions

Do you take emergencies?+

Yes, during open hours — call ahead and we'll be ready. After hours we refer to the 24/7 hospital on Westside and coordinate care the next morning.

What about pet insurance?+

We provide itemised, claim-ready invoices accepted by all major pet insurers, and can pre-estimate procedures for pre-approval.

How do records transfer?+

We handle it. Name your previous clinic at intake and we request the history on your behalf.

My pet is nervous — what helps?+

Tell us at booking. We schedule extra time, use calming pheromones in the room, and can prescribe a pre-visit anxiolytic for severe cases.

Can I stay in the room?+

For exams, always — most pets settle faster with you there. For radiographs and anaesthetic inductions we ask you to wait, for your safety rather than ours.

Do you see rabbits, guinea pigs, birds?+

Rabbits and guinea pigs, yes. Birds and reptiles we refer to the exotics practice across town rather than pretend otherwise.

What if I can't afford the treatment?+

Say so early, without embarrassment. There is almost always more than one plan, and the honest conversation about which one fits your budget is part of the job.

How do repeat prescriptions work?+

Request online and collect the next working day. Chronic medications need a review every six months — we'll remind you before it lapses.
