What we do

The crew at work up on the roof

Storm damage

Wind, hail, fallen-tree. Free inspections + we handle the insurance claim end-to-end.

Finished home with a clean new roofline

Full re-roofs

Asphalt, metal, slate, tile. Single + multi-layer tear-offs. 1–2 day jobs.

Repairs

Repairs by the job, roofs by the square

Roofing is priced per square — 100 square feet of finished roof. These are the bands our written quotes land in, published so you can hold every quote you get, ours included, up against them.

Indicative only — not a quote. Pitch, height, access and how much decking is rotten under the old roof all move the number. That is why the inspection comes first and the price in writing after it.

Paying for it

You do not have to pay for a roof all at once

Three ways people pay for the work we do. Which of them we can offer you depends on the lender, not on us — ask when the quote lands and the options come with it.

On completion

On the day · No finance

Nothing up front. Repairs are invoiced when the job is done; on a re-roof the balance falls due once the last course is on and you have walked it with us.

We do not take deposits before materials are ordered, and never in cash at the door.

Insurance settlement

Claim timeline · Not credit

Storm work is usually paid by your insurer directly against the approved scope, and your out-of-pocket is the deductible you already agreed with them.

What is approved is your insurer's decision. We document the damage and meet the adjuster on the roof.

Monthly finance

Terms vary by lender · Set by your lender

Spread over a fixed term through a third-party lender. Common on full re-roofs, where the roof outlasts the repayments by a couple of decades.

Subject to status. We introduce you; we are not the lender and we are not paid to steer you.

We publish no monthly figure, because nobody can honestly know yours until the lender has run its checks. What you should see in writing before you agree to anything: the amount borrowed, the term, the monthly payment and the total repayable. Ask for those four beside the cash price.

Finance is provided by a third-party lender, not by us, and is subject to status and affordability checks. We are not a lender and we do not give credit advice. All figures shown are examples — your lender confirms the rate, the term and the total you repay before you agree to anything.

What people say to us

The four sentences we hear on the doorstep

Someone knocked after the storm and said my roof is destroyed.
Maybe it is. But nobody should be on your roof, or in your insurance paperwork, before you have a written condition report with photographs in your own hands. Get one from us or from anyone — then decide. Storm-chasers work on the assumption that you will not ask for it.
Written report, photos, free
I got three quotes and they are thousands apart.
Almost always because they are not quoting the same job. Ask each one how many squares they measured, whether the price includes a full tear-off or a layer-over, how many sheets of decking are allowed for, and what happens if more is rotten. Two of the three usually go quiet at question two.
Squares + tear-off on our quote
I think you will talk me into a whole new roof.
We have talked plenty of people out of one. Wind damage is often a few dozen shingles and a run of flashing, and a fifteen-year-old roof with one bad valley is a repair. You get the photographs of what we actually found, and the repair number sits on the quote next to the replacement number.
Both numbers, side by side
What if it rains when the roof is half off?
We tear off only what we can dry in and cover the same day, we watch the forecast before we schedule rather than after, and any job that runs over a night is tarped and weighted before the crew leaves. If the weather turns mid-job, the roof gets sealed and we come back.
Tarped and secured nightly

Something else on your mind? Say it on the phone — a roofer answers, and the awkward questions are the ones worth asking.

Leave a number and a roofer calls you back the same working day — the same day after a storm, not the next one.

Mon–Sat, 7am–5pm. Storm make-safe is answered outside those hours.

Or call us now — Or call now

We use your number to call you back about this enquiry and nothing else.

Insurance claim process

  1. Free inspection

We walk the roof, document everything, write up the damage with photos.

  2. File the claim

We meet your adjuster on-site, present the documentation, advocate for full coverage.

  3. Repair / replace

Work begins as soon as the claim approves. On an approved claim your out-of-pocket is normally just the deductible.

Crew tearing off and re-decking the roof of a white Victorian house, tarps and old shingles across the lawn
Old Town · Full re-roof

Victorian tear-off, and six sheets of decking nobody had quoted for

Two-layer asphalt over a 1904 roof, both layers off to the deck. Six sheets underneath had gone soft around a valley that had been leaking quietly for years — photographed, shown to the owner, re-quoted the same morning before a single new sheet went down. The other two quotes on this house had no decking allowance in them at all.

Hillside · Storm repair

Wind damage that was a repair, not a re-roof

Forty-one shingles off the windward slope and a run of ridge lifted. The insurer had been told the roof was a total loss by a company that knocked the day after the storm. We measured it, photographed it, and repaired the slope in an afternoon — the roof had a decade left in it.

Roofer in a full fall-arrest harness walking to a house with the ladder already set against the eaves
Brookmere · Pre-purchase inspection

The inspection where we told them not to buy a roof

Buyer wanted a re-roof priced into the offer on a house they had not closed on yet. Harnessed up, walked every slope, checked the flashings and the attic side of the deck. Fifteen-year-old architectural shingle with granule left and clean penetrations: five or six years of life, one flashing detail to watch. Report issued, nothing sold, and they have called us twice since about other houses.

Paperwork

What to ask for before anyone climbs a ladder

Four documents worth seeing. Any roofer can produce them in a minute; the ones who cannot are telling you something.

  • Contractor licence for roofing work

Ask for the number and check it with the issuing authority yourself — it takes about a minute online.

  • Public liability insurance

Ask for the certificate of currency, not a policy number. Check the dates and the sum insured.

  • Workers compensation cover

This is the one people forget. Without it, an injury on your roof can become your problem.

  • Working-at-height and fall-arrest training

Current, and held by the people actually on the roof rather than by the person who quoted the job.

Replace each of these with a credential you actually hold, and add the issuing body and registration number so a visitor can check it.

Our promise

What you actually get in writing

Every roof we finish comes with a written workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranty on the materials registered in your name — and if it leaks where we worked, we come back.

  • Photo documentation before, during and after
  • We meet your adjuster on the roof, not on the phone
  • Site tarped and secured every night a job runs over
  • Magnet sweep for nails before we leave the driveway

Warranty length and exclusions are set out in your contract — read them before you sign, with us or with anyone. Insurance outcomes are decided by your insurer, not by us; what we commit to is documenting the damage properly and advocating for full coverage.

The warranty

What is covered, what is not, and how to claim

Printed in full rather than alluded to. The terms that bind are the ones on the contract you sign — this is the shape they take.

Not covered

  • A fresh storm after we finished — that is a new claim, not a warranty call.
  • Work by another trade on or through the roof after handover.
  • Parts of the roof we quoted for and were asked to leave.
  • Blocked gutters, moss and debris on a roof that has not been cleared.
  • Movement in the building structure underneath the roof.

How to claim

  1. Call and send photos

Any hour. Shots from the ground are enough to start — do not climb up to get a better one.

  2. We inspect, free

Within two working days, and we tell you plainly whether it is warranty or a new event.

  3. We put it right

If it is our workmanship, we come back at no charge and confirm what was done in writing.

Cover starts the day we hand over. Length, and whether it transfers with the house, differ by contractor — the column above says where each term is set, and yours belongs on your contract, not on a web page.

04Straight answers

Before you call

Is the inspection really free?+

Yes — we walk the roof, photograph everything, and give you a written condition report at no cost or obligation.

Will you deal with my insurer?+

End-to-end. We document the damage, meet the adjuster on-site, and advocate for full coverage. You pay only your deductible.

How long does a re-roof take?+

Most single-family homes are torn off and re-roofed in 1–2 days, weather permitting. We tarp and secure overnight if a job spans days.

What warranty do I get?+

A written workmanship warranty on every full re-roof — its length and exclusions are on the contract before you sign — plus the manufacturer warranty on the materials, registered in your name so it actually applies.

Do you do commercial flat roofs?+

Yes — TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen, with maintenance plans and emergency response for property managers.

Do I really need a whole new roof?+

Often not. Wind damage is frequently a few dozen shingles and a run of flashing, and a fifteen-year-old roof with one bad valley is a repair, not a replacement. We photograph what we find and show you, and we have talked plenty of people out of a re-roof they were ready to buy.

What does "you pay only your deductible" actually mean?+

On a claim your insurer approves, the settlement covers the approved scope and your out-of-pocket is normally the deductible you already agreed with them. What is approved is your insurer's decision, not ours — anyone promising to make your deductible disappear is describing insurance fraud.

How soon after a storm should I call?+

Within a few days for the inspection, because most policies have a reporting window and because tarping early limits the interior damage. Do not let a door-knocker onto the roof before you have the inspection in writing.

Will you tear off the old roof or go over it?+

Tear-off, unless there is a genuine reason not to. A second layer traps heat, hides rotten decking and halves the life of the new roof — it is cheaper on the day and more expensive over the decade.
