- How do I know you are not going to keep a key?
- Rekeying exists precisely so that question has an answer. On a rekey every old key in circulation stops working, ours included, and you watch us test it. We also verify that you live or work there before we open anything, which is the same protection pointed the other way.Old keys stop working

Paperwork
What to ask for before you let anyone near the door
Four things, and the first two are the ones the trade's bad actors cannot produce. Ask on the phone, before a van is dispatched.
Locksmith licence or registration
Required in most jurisdictions. Ask for the number on the call and check it yourself.
Bonding and public liability insurance
Ask for the certificate of currency rather than a policy number, and check the dates.
Background-checked technicians
Ask who is being dispatched by name, and expect company ID at the door.
Trade association membership
Not a substitute for a licence, but it comes with a complaints route that a lone operator does not have.
Replace each of these with a credential you actually hold, and add the issuing body and registration number so a visitor can check it.

Common questions
Will you damage the lock getting in?+
Almost never. We pick or bypass first — drilling is a last resort we ask permission for, and we replace anything we drill at cost.
How do I know you're legitimate?+
Licensed, bonded and insured — ask for the licence number when you call and you will get it, along with the name of the technician being dispatched. The tech shows company ID at the door and verifies your ID too. A locksmith who does not check is the one to worry about.
Is the phone quote really final?+
Yes. If the job turns out to be different from what you described, we tell you the new price before touching anything.
Do you install smart locks?+
Daily. We fit and configure the major brands and rekey the backup cylinder so your old keys don't still work.
I just moved in — rekey or replace?+
Rekey, almost always. If the hardware is sound the cylinder gets new pins to a new key for a fraction of the price, and every old key in circulation stops working. Replace only when the lock is worn, insecure or you actively want different hardware.
How fast is "30 minutes" really?+
It is our metro-wide target and last quarter's average arrival was 22 minutes. When we are further out or stacked up, you get told the real number on the call — a van that says twenty and arrives in ninety helps nobody.
Can you cut a car key without the original?+
For most makes, yes — cut to code from the VIN with proof of ownership, then programmed on site. Some newer immobiliser systems are dealer-only and we will say so on the phone rather than after driving out.
What about after-hours pricing?+
There is none. The rate at 3am on a public holiday is the rate at 3pm on a Tuesday, and there is no call-out or fuel fee inside the service area.
