A library for the Lower School.
Help us build a 4,000-book lending library at Frederick Douglass Elementary. Every $25 stocks a kid for a year.
Why we're raising this.
Frederick Douglass Elementary serves 320 kids in a neighbourhood where 80% of families don't have books at home. The school hasn't had a real library for six years. Together with the PTA, we're changing that — by June 30, we want a real lending library on the second floor: shelves, soft chairs, 4,000 books, a part-time librarian for the first three years.
- $50,000 funds the entire project: books + shelving + librarian for 3 years
- All donations tax-deductible · 501(c)(3) charitable org
- Monthly progress updates · final report December 2026
- Anonymous donations welcome · suggested $25 / $100 / $250 / $1,000
