A library for the Lower School.

Help us build a 4,000-book lending library at Frederick Douglass Elementary. Every $25 stocks a kid for a year.

Empty classroom being prepared for a library

Why we're raising this.

Frederick Douglass Elementary serves 320 kids in a neighbourhood where 80% of families don't have books at home. The school hasn't had a real library for six years. Together with the PTA, we're changing that — by June 30, we want a real lending library on the second floor: shelves, soft chairs, 4,000 books, a part-time librarian for the first three years.

  • $50,000 funds the entire project: books + shelving + librarian for 3 years
  • All donations tax-deductible · 501(c)(3) charitable org
  • Monthly progress updates · final report December 2026
  • Anonymous donations welcome · suggested $25 / $100 / $250 / $1,000

From the school

A library would change my daughter's school. She loves to read but we can't afford the books she devours.

Questions, considered.

How do we begin?+

A conversation, not a brief. Tell us what you're thinking about. We'll respond in kind.

How long does it take?+

Each piece moves at its own pace. We'll be honest about ours at the outset.

What about cost?+

We quote per project, after we've understood it. No hidden fees, no rate cards.

Where are you based?+

See the contact section below. We work across timezones when the work calls for it.
