A five-room guesthouse in a 1907 farmhouse, an hour from the city. Booked direct only — no platform fees, fewer guests, longer breakfasts.

An acre of orchard, a hammock that books out faster than the loft, and chairs that follow the sun.
Two of the valley's best small restaurants within a walk, the river path from the back gate, cellar doors ten minutes on.
Cheese boards and local wine whenever you ask. We'll book you a dinner table in the village and leave the lamp on.

Every rate includes the cooked breakfast — and nobody hurries you out of it.

Third night is 10% off year-round, and January to March we simply charge less because the valley is quieter and we would rather the house were full.

We bought the place in 2018 with a long list of plans and a short list of money. Six years of weekends later, the house is what it should be — quiet rooms, a breakfast that takes as long as you want, and a garden you can lose an afternoon in.
“The breakfast alone would be worth the drive. The garden room is the most peaceful place we've slept in years — we booked next autumn before checking out.”
We never list on platforms, so there's no service fee — the rate you see is the rate. Direct guests also get first pick of rooms and late checkout when the calendar allows.
3pm to 8pm; checkout at 11am. Arriving later than 8? Tell us and we'll leave the lamp on and the code in your email.
The family room welcomes kids in summer; the rest of the year the house is adult-only. Dogs are welcome in the garden room by request.
We don't cook dinner — but the two restaurants in the village do, and we'll book you in. Cheese boards and local wine are always available for the porch.
Full refund up to 14 days out, half up to 7. Inside a week we refund whatever we manage to re-book, which is usually all of it.

Check your dates — if the calendar is tight we'll suggest the nearest quiet weekend.
We live in the annexe, so somebody is always about. Outside these hours, knock — we would rather that than you standing in the lane.
The house closes for two weeks in late January — the only fortnight of the year we go somewhere else. Everything else, including Christmas, we are here.
Tell us your dates and preferred room. We reply the same day, usually within the hour.
